The Valencian Community , with the Alicante coast in the lead , awaits the arrival of British tourists with open arms. Starting this Monday, Britons who come to Spain to spend their holidays and are vaccinated will not have to quarantine upon their return , as agreed by the Government of their country.

This relaxation of anti-covid measures has boosted reservations to fly to Phone Number List Spain from there by 400%. Faced with this new scenario, the 'president' of the Generalitat Valenciana, Ximo Puig, has celebrated the upcoming disembarkation of British tourists. It is one of the main markets for tourists to Valencian lands, which already last summer confirmed that it is not possible to live off of national visitors.

"Any recovery in the British market is welcome and we hope it will be a catalyst .  " With these words, the Valencian president has expressed the need to open the doors to as many foreign tourists as possible, given the dependence that Spain, and the Valencian Community in a very prominent place, continue to have on this sector. This is how Puig spoke when asked about the return of British tourists before participating in the plenary session of the Valencian Business Association (AVE).

British tourists, 87% of the foreigners that the Costa Blanca receives
For his part, according to the regional secretary of Tourism, Francesc Colomer , these measures will stimulate the dynamics of this market in the Valencian Community. Especially on the Costa Blanca, where the British market represents 87% of the foreign tourists it receives.

Colomer has indicated that the data convey the perception that the British are faithful to the destiny of the Valencian Community; and even searches in some areas are higher than in years before the coronavirus. However, he pointed out that the British market continues to be volatile, since they usually book well in advance and the current circumstances "do not allow it."

The rules that British tourists visiting Spain must follow
The United Kingdom Government has decided to keep all of Spain under an amber traffic light . This means that when they return to their country they must quarantine. However, it has exempted those who have received the complete vaccination schedule from this obligation. Yes, they must undergo two covid detection tests, before and after the trip.

Since the United Kingdom announced the lifting of this quarantine, reservations have increased by 400% , although they started from very low levels, sources from the Airlines Association (ALA) have told Efe .

Airlines, Ryanair and Easyjet among others, have increased frequencies and capacities with the United Kingdom; although also with other important issuers, such as Germany, in anticipation of a slowed demand due to the increase in infections, which had caused cancellations and drops in reservations in various areas of the country.

The United Kingdom does not lift the quarantine for those traveling to France
This past Friday, London announced that travelers returning to England from France must continue to quarantine for ten days even if they are fully vaccinated , contrary to its initial decision to allow them to enter without the need to isolate. At the moment, it only affects France.

The evolution of British tourism is key to the numbers in Spain, because it is the first source of tourists, with more than 18 million entries in 2019, for whom the restrictions to come are now lifted if they are vaccinated (about 35 million citizens) .
