Along the Hendaye border on a cold December day in a group of Spanish girls and boys between fifteen and nineteen years old entered at parade pace. They wear a blue phalanx shirt and are preceded by a standard bearer from whom due to some touch on his clothing one can deduce hierarchical prevalence over the rest. A girl parades to the left of the column with such a rigorous gesture that she seems to menacingly monitor its members. Who were they? Why were they entering from the border of occupied France and the territory of the collaborationist Vichi government?
