When a page is visited from an external source using a tracking URL, the parameters of that URL inform HubSpot's tracking code about the origin of that visit. The tracking URL is what will tell HubSpot where that contact came from. What will happen if you don't have one? The contact will end up as Direct Traffic. This is an important aspect of tracking to remember. Although Direct Traffic is the defined category, not everything is Direct Traffic. It should be labeled Direct Traffic + Everything the Eye Can See. Literally. It means that everything that is not known is included in the Direct.
